In case you have not heard, we launched an audacious project in Haiti, The Legacy Project. We are going to build a REAL school for 30 orphans and over 120 vulnerable children. For the past two years, these kids have attended school under a tent after 2010’s massive earthquake destroyed their school.  Ever since, Pastor Gaetan has wanted to build a real school for these children so they can begin to rebuild their community and country.

Nelson Mandela reminds us that “Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.” There is just no question as to how right he is. If you want to fight extreme poverty, there are a few key aspects that need our focus – quality health care, education, job creation and healthy churches top the list.

The book of Acts tell us that Christians should sacrifice for one another. Acts 4 reminds us that many would sell what they had and distribute it to those who did not have.  They lived life in community that had no need because of their generosity.  These early believers used their time and resources as a blessing — not because they had to but because they were able.

They partnered with God to advance His Kingdom on earth.

We know it is a blessing to give. And this Christmas, we all get to lean into a massive opportunity to serve our friends in Haiti. We can give the gift of education for decades. We can partner with the Haitian church and serve them and their communities.

This school will create over 100 jobs in the next six months — all Haitian jobs. It will serve thousands of children. We are committed to building a first class building; it will be one that will last and give back to the community for a long long time! The school will also be used for Sunday School classes, discipleship training, counseling center, and most importantly, it will be a safe shelter for the children and the community.

This building will be a center of Kingdom activity.  Everyday.  All day.  365 days a year.

We’re committed to raising $100,000 through our campaign. We also need to raise an additional $50,000 through private donors.

As the end of the year approaches, I’m asking you to consider partnering with us to give the gift of of education. Would you be willing to allocate your end-of-the-year gift to the Legacy Project and help us build this school in Haiti?

You will also be able to follow the project step-by-step. Our goal is to break ground this January and have the school finished by summer. Children will be attending the school in the fall of 2013. We believe in transparency, so you will be able to monitor the entire project online. You will see photos, videos and budgets on the project page.

Go to our Legacy Project page for more info, including how to give and time frames.

Thank you for partnering with us to make a difference. Together, we can leave a legacy and advance God’s Kingdom this Christmas!
