Mercedes & Willie Malpartida

Mercedes and her son Willie are the directors of Kairos Ministries in Iquitos, Peru. Nearly 20 years ago, Noe & Mercedes Malpartida (Willie’s parents) launched Kairos. Since that time, they have been tirelessly building bridges in their community by providing quality education and care for vulnerable children, counseling and support to struggling families, and empowerment through the Family Business Program. Mercedes, a strong and passionate woman, alongside Willie, took up the reins of Kairos Ministries when Noe tragically passed away years ago. They are leading well and have an expansive vision for the future and how they can empower their community to flourish!

Education

Our education program in Peru provides a strong foundation for children pursuing their primary and secondary education, offering high-quality learning at a fraction of the cost of other school options. At our schools in Iquito and Nauta, students receive not only an excellent education but also nutritious hot meals, mentorship, and a range of extracurricular activities. Together, these opportunities help children build confidence, dream boldly, and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is another key pillar of our work. Our Family Business Program empowers families to achieve financial independence by equipping them with the tools and training to launch and sustain their own businesses. To date, we have empowered 129 families in the Iquitos region of Peru.

Restorative Community Care

Our Community Care initiatives in Peru focus on meeting urgent needs and nurturing spiritual growth. Through emergency crisis support, families receive care and stability during times of hardship. In partnership with the local church, spiritual mentorship and discipleship programs offer guidance, hope, and community, helping families establish strong foundations for the future.
